swimming technique

A bit of a milestone this morning :-) Did my normal mile distance in the pool but today was the first time that I got 50/50 crawl and breaststroke. And it felt good. All down to discovering on t'interweb that it's possible to put a rest into the crawl by holding the stretched position at the start of each stroke. This extra (rest) time means that I needed to breathe every two strokes to keep from running out of oxygen but it's a lot more efficient than going all out like I was previously. Also rememberig to kick more, pull the strokes all the way back to full extension and make sure that hands enter at 11 and 1 o'clock.

New baseline for a 25m pool: 100m front crawl and 100m breast stroke, repeat. Pyramid from 25m to 100m to 25m, alternating strokes. Repeat 50m sets alternating strokes to end. Total = 1600m. All without stopping!
